Gender equality index for tbs

Declared a major national cause of the five-year term by the President of the Republic and firmly defended by the Government, professional equality between women and men requires the mobilisation of all.

In May 2018, after 4 months of consultation with the social partners, Édouard Philippe, Prime Minister, Muriel Pénicaud, Minister of Labour, and Marlène Schiappa, Secretary of State in charge of Equality between women and men and the Fight against Discrimination, presented a comprehensive action plan to fight against sexist and sexual violence, and to put an end to pay inequalities between women and men. The legislative measures were adopted in the law for the freedom to choose one's professional future, enacted on 5 September 2018. As a key measure of the plan, equal pay for women and men in companies is now subject to an obligation of results, and no longer simply an obligation of means.
